Three-dimensional observation network constructed in the venue of Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games

From January 5 to 14, the first subject team of “scientific Olympic Winter Games” spearheaded by Hebei Provincial Meteorological Observatory has constructed 5 small-sized “super stations” comprising the whole factor observation from the ground to the upper air within 20 km scope surrounding the venue of Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Chongli, Zhangjiakou, Hebei province.

After the closing of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, the venues entered their transition stage to better serve the Paralympics, including the famous National Aquatics Center.Previously known as the "Water Cube", the National Aquatics Center was converted to the "Ice Cube" to host curling competitions at the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.

On January 30, on-site meteorological service team in main operation center of the Beijing Organizing Committee for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games (BOCOG) was discussing high impact weather of the venues. The team is composed of chief forecasters from Beijing Municipal Meteorological Observatory, National Meteorological Centre (NMC) and Hebei Provincial Meteorological Service Centre.
